Messy Church is a core ministry of the Bible Reading Fellowship, which provides the staff and infrastructure to enable it to grow and develop, not just throughout the UK but in at least 12 countries as well.
Aims of Messy Church:
To help all ages meet as “church” in a relaxed environment.
To help people have fun and be creative together.
To provide an opportunity for people of all ages to worship together.
Here at St Margaret’s Messy Church normally meets on one Monday of each month. See notice sheets for the dates.
Doors open from 3.30pm so folk can arrive for a cup of tea or juice and a biscuit before the fun starts at 4pm with lots of craft activities. At about 5pm everyone goes into church to celebrate together, singing some songs and listening to a story, before heading back to the hall to eat tea together – something like jacket potatoes with cheese and beans.
All are welcome to come along and find out more – just drop in on the day, there’s nothing at all to pay – everything’s free. And Messy Church is for everyone, whatever your age. But please note, children cannot take part without a parent or carer staying with them throughout.
If you’d like more information, feel free to ask the clergy. Otherwise, just turn up on the day - and bring a friend along.
As well as holding the meetings at St Margaret’s we also support the Messy Church administration, based in the BRF offices, by sending a donation from our missionary giving allocation.
