Holiday Special for Older People
|
Not everyone these days can manage to go away for a summer holiday. For many, it’s the cost that stops them, but for others, it’s a case of being physically unable to cope with long journeys or too many new surroundings, or having no one to go with. Each year at St Margaret's we host a ‘Holiday at Home’, organised by Christians Together In Burnage (CTIB). Anyone older person is welcome, particularly residents who might find it hard to go away, to have a holiday here instead! We have a packed programme of speakers with talks and slideshows on a range of themes. There will be chance for a singalong, giant games, crafts and lunch and refreshments provided each day. What some folk may enjoy most, of course, may simply be the chance to chat with friends and there’ll be pleanty of time for that. If folk can’t attend on all days, they can come for one or two. If you know anyone who might be just the kind of person to appreciate this holiday, please let Sheila Brown know or complete an online form.
