Burnage Multi Agency Group

BMAG works from its own building next to the Health Centre on Burnage Lane. It's main activity at present is the provision of youth work amongst local youngsters, including a link project with Burnage Media Arts College. The Centre Manager and 2 youth workers are the paid staff at present, funded from a variety of grants and donations. The member organisations include:- Southway Housing Trust, Resident and Tenant associations, Burnage Good Neighbours and Community Centre, Local MP John Leech and City councillors for the Burnage ward, Burnage Children’s Centre, The Library and Health Centre, Local Churches and Schools, Burnage in Bloom is also linked to the agency.
An Executive Committee oversees the work. St Margaret’s Church is represented by the Rector, Rev Ian Thompson, who is currently the deputy chair and Pearl Hardy, a Reader at St Margaret’s. A former Rector of St Margaret’s, Rev Alan Pugmire, was instrumental in the formation of BMAG and became its first chairman when it was started in March 1996. |
