Once a month, a 1662 service of Holy Communion is held at 9.00 am and attended by about 10 - 15 members. Otherwise, the style of worship at St. Margaret's is informal and based around Common Worship using hymns and modern songs as appropriate. We have a principle of Holy Communion once each Sunday and use Rite 1 and Option A or D. Lay members of the church are involved in many aspects of the services including Bible Reading, Intercessions and as Lay Assistants for Holy Communion. A small Music group is involved in most services. The children and young people are present for the first twenty minutes of the morning service and usually take an active part in presenting to the congregation aspects of what they have been working on in their own organisations. On the first Sunday of each month an All-age Celebration service is planned and partly led by lay members and the sermon is appropriate to this kind of service. St. Margaret's has a large Healing and Ministry Team and Healing Services are held on a regular basis, morning and evening. Clergy are robed for the Sacraments but not for the other services. The Evening Services on the 3rd and 4th Sundays, called “Third Sunday” and "Grow In The Spirit”, are less structured and open to experimentation, e.g. Celtic forms of worship or meditations have been used. |
